Even with illustrations, I am completely lost reading this book 😩 Picked this up based on recommendation 🙃

“It’s been a while.”
I say this often to almost everybody and thing - friends and when I write to myself in my journal. It’s sad.
But like I said in January, the time for excuses is over.
I realised that due to my job, I’ve neglected a lot of things that made me, me. WOOP zine has been all but neglected (although I’ve just published a post about an ex-Google employee translated into Korean tonight!), along with my friends, journal and everything else, basically. I haven’t had time to stop and think, but now I do. I’m probably jinxing myself by saying I have time now, but I’ll take it one day at a time.
ANYWAY, now that I’ve provided context, hopefully you can understand why it’s such a big deal to me that I have recently finished reading two books: Death of a Perm Sec by Wong Souk Yee and Let’s Give It Up For Gimme Lao! by Sebastian Sim. Both are finalists for the 2015 Epigram Books Fiction Prize.
I got inspired to hit my favourite bookstore (Kinokuniya) and I picked up a couple of books after interviewing a couple of bookworms a few weeks ago on their love for reading. And even if they could make time to read despite their busy lives, what other excuse did I have?
By the way, spoilers are ahead so maybe those who want to keep the surprise for themselves should stop reading now.
